DETAILS ON TAMMY FAYE MESSNER'S DEATH

Evangelist and talk show host Tammy Faye Messner, who passed away Friday morning of inoperable cancer at the age of 65, died peacefully in her home, spokesperson Joe Spotts tells Entertainment Tonight. 'Tammy Faye Messner passed away in her own bed, with one of her best friends and her husband at her side.'Per her wishes, Tammy's remains were taken by a hearse to be cremated in a small town near Kansas City on Saturday. After the cremation, her family buried her ashes at a remote cemetery near the Southern part of Kansas.Tammy Faye chose this cemetery because her husband's family is buried there,' Joe tells ET. 'This will be her husband Roe's final resting place as well. Tammy asked not to have a funeral, but instead a celebration. There will be a memorial service taking place in the upcoming weeks.Tammy first battled colon cancer in 1993 and announced in 2004 that the disease had spread to her lungs. In May, she revealed on her Web site that she has ceased all treatment. The night before her death, Tammy, weighing a frail 65 lbs, appeared on Larry King Live, telling her fans, I'd like to say that I genuinely love you, and I genuinely care, and I genuinely want to see you in heaven some day.
