Director Says Javier Bardem's 'Glee' Dream Could Come True

The rumor that Javier Bardem wants to star on Glee is true and creator Ryan Murphy says he's going to try and make it happen!

He might be the creator, writer and director for Glee, but Ryan also directed Javier in Eat Pray Love.

“I went up and I congratulated him about his very pretentious Best Actor Award at Cannes, because he wins those things, and he said, ‘I don’t want to talk about that, I want to talk about Glee,” Ryan told Access Hollywood. “And I said, ‘What do you mean?’ ”

It really was all Javier's idea!

“I didn’t even send it to him because I thought the Brando of our time would have no interest in Glee but he watched all the DVDs and he knew everything about the characters — he was obsessed about the show and wanted to know what was happening next,” Ryan explained. “He said, ‘Can I come on the show? Would you write me a role?’ and I thought he was kidding."

He even has his role all picked out and it includes his Eat Pray Love co-star Julia Roberts making an appearance!

“He’s obsessed with this idea of him being a Spanish rock ‘n’ roll star,” Ryan said. “I don’t know how we’re gonna do it. We have to do it. And Julia said she would come in at the very end and play his wife or something with one line.”

But was Julia really being serious?

“She overheard Javier talking and she said, ‘That I would do.’ So I don’t know…. We’ll see what happens," Ryan said. "I have to talk to him and see his schedule."
