Don’t Forget Demi Lovato

It’s a big week for Demi Lovato, whose debut album Don’t Forget is in stores now.
“I think it will be more rock than pop than what people expect,” the petite, high-energy singer-actress tells me. “It’s got a lot of messages that I wanted to get out. I want people to hear one song about feeling insecure and not always feeling beautiful. That’s one song that I hope girls will relate to. You are beautiful.”
The 16-year-old phenom toured with the Jonas Brothers, and starred as Joe’s love interest in the Disney Channel insta-classic Camp Rock. Demi and her BFF Selena Gomez also had a YouTube rivalry with Miley Cyrus and Mandy Jiroux, but she says she’s surprised they even know her.
What’s something she learned recently from the Jonas Co.?
“Take the high road. I’ve learned that from the boys – the Jonas Brothers – and two wrongs don’t make a right. They really help me out with the things I’m going through.”
The self-professed “neat freak” calls Jim Sturgess her celebrity crush. “He’s beautiful,” she gushes.
And, what about the perfect boyfriend? Although she’s “definitely not dating anybody,” she has a few qualities in mind.
“I’m not sure who, but it would be someone who is more intelligent than I am and who has a great sense of humor. It would be nice if we have the same style.” (That style? “I do wear a lot of black.”)

Luckily, Demi has Selena in her corner. “She’s honest, she’s loyal and she’s a good friend.” Plus, she can trust her as they grew up as child stars on the set of Barney.
“We call each other on iChat every single minute of the day. In our free time, we watch movies – movies is our big thing – but we go bowling a lot, we just hang out at her house. We’re kind of losers on the weekends.” (Her favorite flick? Camp Rock – ha ha.)
Can she share any scoop about Camp Rock 2?
“I know as much as you do about Camp Rock 2,” she laughs. “Everyone’s like ‘you’re making the second one,’ and I’m like ‘really? I didn’t hear that.’ I mean, I guess there is a second one. I don’t know!”
For now, Demi can look forward to starring in Hollywood High.“My character is from Wisconsin,” she says. “She just moved to Hollywood to be on her favorite TV show.”
Sounds like Demi can keep on indulging in her favorites -- Louis Vuitton sunglasses, hats and purses.
