Considering Cindy and George Anthony granted their first interview to Dr. Phil after their daughter was acquitted of murdering their granddaughter, the doc is no slouch when it comes to asking hard hitting questions. As expected, he pushed back in particular when Cindy indicated she's not making excuses for her daughter. His response? "I think you are."

Dr. Phil conducted the interview in his usual style and Cindy and George walked through the emotions they experienced when Caylee was missing as well as what they told Casey when she was gone, as reported by RadarOnline.

Dr. Phil outright told the couple he thought their daughter would have been “heartbroken, devastated, grieving beyond belief, not getting a tattoo that is Italian for ‘Beautiful Life,’ not entering a hard body contest." It's what happened next that perhaps stunned him the most: Cindy defended Casey!

She explained, “One of the girls that was supposed to dance that night didn’t show up so they asked Casey to dance." Cindy continued, “She was subdued when she got up there.  I’m not making excuses for her." To this point Dr. Phil added,  “I think you are.”

Further defending her daughter, Cindy noted, “Her intent wasn’t to go up there. They don’t have a picture of her going to there.  The only thing that came out in trial was what they wanted to come out -- to paint her in a bad light.”
