If you’ve ever seen “In Her Shoes” with Cameron Diaz, then you have an idea of the life I’m living this week – and loving (for the few day I'm here anyway). I’m in Ft. Lauderdale spending a some time with grandma, reading, running, sunning, relaxing and being force-fed too much of her cooking (and trying to learn a bit), but otherwise detoxing from a few days that preceded in Miami.

I initially flew to Florida last weekend for the grand opening of Cabana One, a new rooftop day-to-night venue that crowns the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove. The first night we were there my friends and I indulged in cocktails combining Lucid Absinthe and Rose’s Mojito  Mix – a subtle fruit flavor in place of a sugar cube and water to take the edge off the exhoritantly high proof absinthe.

Sopranos stars Jamie Lynn Sigler and Rober Iler reunited at the party, Gabrielle Union brought her friend Corinne Kaplan, who incidentally happens to be on the current season of Survivor (and kicking butt), I caught up with the gorgeous Susie Castillo and her husand Matt and finally met one of their children, Oscar, (a chihuahua) but Lupe (their other chihuahua) was more of a homebody and stayed in their suite most of the weekend.  Chris Evans was said to ‘be hooking up with Kristin Cavallari’ but I'm betting that was a false rumor since I saw one or both of them in the wee hours of the morning both nights of the weekend, Not together, so pretty sure that didn’t happen.

Saturday night the soiree was rained out but since I was all dressed up in a new Tricia Fix frock with matching ostrich feather headband that Tricia personally made me that day in her design studio (aka fab Miami loft), after we hit Michy’s for dinner I stayed out and went by Mokai before stopping into SET Nightclub and making a mad dash back to the Mayfair where we drank in the lobby bar until Sunday morning.
