'Eat Pray Love' Palm Reader Admitted to Hospital

The Balinese palm reader who is featured in Elizabeth Gilbert's book Eat Pray Love, who Julia Roberts visited while filming the movie version, has been admitted to the hospital.

Ketut Liyer has been hospitalized to treat a heart ailment, his doctor told the Associated Press.
The palm reader gave guidance and support to Elizabeth while she traveled the world on a journey of self-discovery.

Ketut's home was used for several scenes in the Eat Pray Love film and since the book was published in 2006, he has become a tourist attraction in his town of Ubud in Indonesia.
His granddaughter, Wayan Puspita Sari, said the 96-year-old is "exhausted by all of this attention" and he has been asked to appear in commercials and ads inferring, "It may have affected his health."

Ketut underwent surgery on Monday to treat a prostate problem he was also suffering from, but his doctor, Wayan Gede Wirawan, says he is recovery well but needs to rest in the hospital for at least one week.
