And the news gets worse.
The Playboy Club earned the title of being the first canceled show of the season.
Ouch!
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show premiered to low ratings and saw a drop with each episode. Last night, the 1960s' set drama only had 3.4 million viewers.
So the cancellation doesn't come as much of a shock. In addition to low ratings, The Playboy Cub was being protested by the Parents Television Council.

In its place, NBC will repeat Prime Suspect — another show that needs help with ratings.
NBC did pick up full seasons of Up All Night and Whitney, but hasn't made an announcement on the fate of Free Agents.
