Rocket Man down!
Elton John was rushed to the hospital Wednesday for what his rep calls a serious respiratory infection. Elton was booked at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sunday and began to feel ill after his "Million Dollar Piano" performance. When the problem worsened he checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center early yesterday morning where he was administered antibiotics and underwent extensive testing.
Doctors have urged the performer to lay low for the next week, forcing him to cancel subsequent Colosseum performances on May 24, 25 and 27, which were rescheduled for October.

"It feels strange not to be able to perform these 'Million Dollar Piano' concerts at The Colosseum," Elton said in the statement to his fans. "I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled. All I can say to the fans is sorry I can't be with you."
