Farrah Fawcett's Swimsuit Heads to Smithsonian

Although Farrah Fawcett passed away in 2009 at the age of 62, her iconic swimsuit lives on. The red swimsuit she wore in a 1976 poster will be presented to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C.

CNN reports the donation will be presented by her long-time partner Ryan O'Neal and will include the red swimsuit, an original copy of the poster, a leather-bound book of her personal copies of scripts from the first season of Charlie's Angels, a Farrah swimsuit jigsaw puzzle, a "Farrah Phenomenon" 1976 edition of TV Guide, a Charlie's Angels 1976 edition of Time and an original 1977 Farrah Fawcett doll and hairstyling toy.

The poster sold approximately 12 million copies back in the day and after her season on the popular show, Farrah pursued a serious acting career and starred in the 1984 TV movie The Burning Bed, a 1986 film, Extremeties and other movies such as Logan's Run, Saturn 3, The Cannonball Run, The Apostle and Dr. T and the Women.
