'Fashion Star's' Nicole Richie Opens Up About Wild Past

As Nicole Richie's new show, Fashion Star, gears up to hit prime time, the reality star has opened up about her wild past.

In a recent interview with Ocean magazine (via JustJared), she explained, "You have to remember that I was 20 years old. I don't know anybody who can look back at who they were at 20 and say, 'I'm the exact same person.' It's all about evolving and growing. Who we are in our 30s is obviously very different than who we are in our 20s."

So, now that the multi-tasking mama has a husband and two small children, it sounds like marriage and motherhood agree with her.

Considering hubby Joel Madden is family-oriented, she pointed out, "When we met, I was definitely going through a difficult time with my family, and having him with such a strong foundation really opened the doors and brought both of our families together."

As for children, Nicole said daughter Harlow, 4, looks "exactly like me, and she has Joel's personality." While Harlow deliberately thinks about consequences before making any moves, son Sparrow, 2, is quite the opposite! He looks exactly like Joel and has his mom's personality!

She dished, "He's just wild. I'm in for the ride. He's 2, and we've had broken fingers, we've been to the hospital. You cannot take your eye off of him for a second. He is just a full, free spirit."
