Finally...

It’s amazing how no matter how many more pressing things I have on my plate – making sure all of my pages and stories are done for the magazine with only 48 hours to do them, starting to sort through stuff for Sundance, unpack from the holidays, repack for Las Vegas etc., etc., the two things at the forefront of my mind have been: WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE and who am I going to kiss at midnight?

Thankfully, after a few hours spent running around the streets of New York City, fighting throngs of bargain shoppers at Macy’s and walking in the rain down Madison Avenue, I found what I was looking for at Bebe. Well, a dress that will do anyway. Bebe had a sign in the window that said, “50% off all party dresses” and since it’s a party dress I sought…
I tried on most of them, was indecisive in the end but after more than an hour in the store and only a few hours until I left for Vegas I decided to get the dress pictured, but mine is emerald green. When I got to the counter I noticed stains on the bottom of the dress that looked like it has already had a drink spilled on it during a wild night out and then returned! My first instinct was to say thanks, but no thanks. The salesperson looked up the dress online and at other locations – sold out everywhere! I started walking towards the door, dress-less. I turned around for one last look and again changed my mind (now two hours after getting to Bebe) and bought the dress. Bebe said they’d pay for the dry cleaning if I brought back a receipt. I got to the dry cleaner the next day and the dress said ‘Hand wash only.’ Oh well. At least now I won’t feel bad when the first drops of champagne
