And the answer is...Amber Riley! The singer who plays Mercedes Jones was confirmed to be joining season 17 exclusively by a source to Wetpaint. "Wetpaint Entertainment has learned exclusively from an inside source that Amber is a very likely contender for the ABC competition show next season," the blog wrote. They continued by explaining how fans will get a "double dose of Amber this fall TV season" as the actress will be returning to Glee for Cory Monteith's tribute episode.
