And the answer is...Amber Riley! The singer who plays Mercedes Jones was confirmed to be joining season 17 exclusively by a source to Wetpaint. "Wetpaint Entertainment has learned exclusively from an inside source that Amber is a very likely contender for the ABC competition show next season," the blog wrote. They continued by explaining how fans will get a "double dose of Amber this fall TV season" as the actress will be returning to Glee for Cory Monteith's tribute episode.

Wetpaint also found that Amber hinted to followers the exciting news on Instagram last week by sharing, "HUGE announcement next week hehehehehe! Can't wait to share y'all." Hmmm seems like it could be a confirmation to us!
