Gary Coleman Pleads Guilty & Gets Fined

Former Diff'rent Strokes star Gary Coleman almost had to spend his 42nd birthday Monday behind bars, but instead, paid up to get out!

Gary pleaded guilty in Justice Court to one count of domestic violence criminal mischief and was fined $595, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
As part of the plea deal, the court suspended a 30-day jail sentence and dismissed domestic violence assault charges against him.

Gary spent less than two days in Utah County Jail for his earlier failure to appear in court on charges.
"I've been in better places on my birthday," Gary admitted before the hearing began. Afterward things wee looking better as he said that he didn't have to pay a big fine and avoided jail.

"I'm going to lunch," Gary said.
The charges stemmed from an April incident between Gary and his wife, Shannon Price.

Gary's attorney, Randy Kester, told the paper the deal was fair.
