According to E! News, Amber was taken to the hospital on Tuesday for an alleged suicide attempted after Gary called 911.
"Hi. I just spoke with my girlfriend, she had said something to me, Amber Portwood. She said something to me, she’s having a hard time in her life, call the police and they’ll find my body in the garage and I don’t know what to do," Gary said in the call rather calmly. "I’m calling you guys because I don’t want her to kill herself."

But Gary also took some action of his own.
"I called my mom to go over there because at first I was like you know she has said this several times and I said well she’s not answering my phone calls and she said call the police and they’ll find my body in the garage," he explained in the call. "I called her back several times and she didn’t answer so you don’t tell somebody to call the police if you don’t really want to call the police."
