"Instead of checking in from the tour, I'm writing as I recover at home," Gavin told VH1. "I'm feeling much better, but it will take a little bit more time to be back to 100 percent!"
And, of course, Gavin is grateful for all the love his fans have shown him.
"I'm overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from my fans, friends and family," he said. "I can't wait to get back out on tour and look forward to seeing you on the road sometime soon."
The "I Don't Want to Be" singer-songwriter was the victim of a brutal assault in New York City earlier this month, when he was beaten by a group of men who left him with a broken nose, cuts, bruises and a concussion.
