French actor Gerard Depardieu lost his son today, 37-year-old actor Guillaume Depardieu, after the younger Depardieu entered the hospital Sunday.
Officials at Raymond-Poincare de Garches hospital in the suburb west of Paris said Guillaume was hospitalized on Sunday night with a sudden case of pneumonia, and died from complications, according to the Associated Press.
The younger Depardieu won the award for most promising young actor at the Cesar awards in 1996 for his role in Les Apprentis.
Gerard, 60, has starred in dozens of movies, both French and American, including Cyrano de Bergerac, for which he garnered an Oscar nomination in 1990.
