Gwyneth Paltrow on Marriage to Chris Martin: "We Go Through Periods That Aren't All Rosy"

Rather than just denying the breakup rumors that surround her marriage to Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow is admitting that their relationship isn't always perfect. But the rumors are still false!

Gwyneth and Chris both have very busy schedules that have both recently revolved around music — Gwyneth with Glee and Chris with Coldplay.

But Gwyneth has decided not to go to her husband for advice on her musical career.

“He’s a musical genius," Gwyneth tells Elle in its new issue. "It’s like living with Picasso and being like, ‘Should I make a little something-something?’”

And Gwyneth and Chris also try to keep their marriage out of the spotlight.

“He makes music for his fans, and he doesn’t want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they’re getting into his music," she explains. "I get it.”

But that doesn't mean their marriage is in trouble or that the rumors they have split are true!

“Sometimes it’s hard being with someone for a long time. We go through periods that aren’t all rosy," Gwyneth admits. "I always say, life is long, and you never know what’s going to happen."

"If, god forbid, we were ever not to be together, I respect him so much as the father of my children," she adds. "Like, I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, 'I’ve got this thing.' "
