Lewellen (Fanning) is a little girl in rural Alabama with big dreams of becoming a singer. Although we all love Fanning from hits like Charlotte’s Web and Dreamer, the 14-year-old tackles much more serious topics in this film. There’s alcoholism, physical abuse and an unsettling rape scene that leaves viewers feeling disgusted.
