'The Hunger Games' Already Breaking Records With Ticket Pre-Sales

Before the film has even hit theaters, The Hunger Games is breaking box office records! Fans are apparently hungry to get their hands on their tickets for this weekend in advance.

According to Fandango, nearly 2,000 showtimes were sold out in pre-sale tickets as of yesterday. The website also says that 92 percent of its daily sales for online tickets as been for The Hunger Games.
And for those keeping score, The Hunger Games has sold more pre-sale tickets than the first Twilight film.
According to Huffington Post, The Hunger Games is expected to earn around $85 million opening weekend, but some insiders suspect it could earn as much as $130-$140 million instead. And yes, that would be higher than the recent Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1 that earned $138.1 million.
