NEWS'Inception' Takes Home Top Prize at Writer's Guild Awards

Stars came out for Saturday’s Writer’s Guild Awards, held simultaneously in NYC and L.A., to honor the men and women behind the best scripts in television and film for 2010.
Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet hosted the show on the west coast and represented the hilarious sitcom’s win for TV Comedy Series.

Mad Men, featuring John Hamm and Christina Hendricks, nabbed the award for TV Drama Series.
The top honor of the evening, Original Screenplay, went to Christopher Nolan for his work on Inception, while the Social Network kept the nods coming with Aaron Sorkin’s win for Adapted Screenplay.

Although the King’s Speech, starring Colin Firth, has been racking up serious Oscar buzz, the film was left out of the night’s nominations for not meeting specific Writer’s Guild guidelines, according to E! Online.
