IN THIS ISSUE: Angie: What She's Really Like as a Mom
Jan. 30 2011, Published 4:05 a.m. ET
On a red carpet, Angelina Jolie appears aloof and impossibly perfect, but mother and family leader are the roles she was born to play, friends tell OK! in this week's new issue.
“She’s always in charge with this calm authority,” says a pal. But she’s not a disciplinarian. “She gives the kids lots of freedom. Their house in France is covered with crayon and Magic Marker ink,” says the insider.

As she encourages her kids to chase their own creative passions, Angie, 35, is there making special time for each of them. Explains the pal: “She never wants one to feel neglected because they have a big family.”
Angelina has always made a special effort to bond with Pax, her 7-year-old son whom she adopted from an orphanage in Vietnam in 2007. “Angie wanted to make sure Pax never felt like he was second best to Maddox, so when he was having trouble with his soccer tricks, she would sit there and cheer him on and help him practice,” says the friend.
