It's National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Day! A Look Back At Teen Pregnancy in Movies
May 1 kicks off National Teen Pregnancy Prevention month, and considering OKMagazine.com's obsession with all things 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom, we're kind of excited to have an entire 30 days to devote to awareness around it. Maci Bookout and Carly Rae Jepsen have joined Candies' #NoTeenPreg pact on Twitter to show their support, but us here at OKMagazine.com? We're having a grand ol' time looking back at movies that are about pregnant teens.

From Juno to a must-watch 80's film starring Molly Ringwald that you've probably never heard of, see our favorite below (with adorable clips from each!).

First things first, we gotta start this baby (sorry, terrible pun) off with Juno. This scene in particular is our favorite where Juno rethinks getting an abortion when she finds out that her fetus already has fingernails. It's intense stuff and Ellen Page's delivery (again, terrible pun) is so spot-on.
Remember The Pregnancy Pact? Lifetime made a movie about knocked-up high schoolers in 2010 which was based off a real story where a bunch of teen girls got pregnant on purpose so they could all have babies together. Horrible idea, but really great film, to be honest:
But before that, there was 15 & Pregnant, a Lifetime movie from 1998 starring Kirsten Dunst. Here's a solid 10 minutes of Kirsten's character learning about labor, maternity clothes, and other things you pretty much don't want to have to think about in high school:
The cast in 2004's movie, Saved!, is epic, and includes Mandy Moore, Macauley Culkin and Jena Malone as a knocked-up Christian teenager. Here's a montage of Jena's characer, Mary, dealing with the news, and also going into labor in an ambulance at her prom. The usual.

In Precious from 2009, Gabourey Sidibe played a very, very troubled, poor teenager with an abusive mother and two unplanned teenage pregnancies. There was nothing funny about her story, though. This entire movie was so sad and crazy.
Molly Ringwald now plays a mom to a teen mom on Secret Life of the American Teenager, but in 1988, she played a teen mom herself in For Keeps. Here's a montage of the film's best moments (clearly the "Apologize" song was added in a few years later), and not to give anything away, but this movie actually has a really great message about teen pregnancy. You should probably go rent it now.
Riding in Cars With Boys is another classic, where Drew Barrymore (Beverly) gets pregnant as a teen in the 1960's and Brittany Murphy (Fay) stars as her best friend slash confidant. This scene of the two practicing how they're going to break the news to Beverly's parents is pretty great. RIP, Britt.
