Jake Gyllenhaal on His Golden Globes Date: "I'm Not Rushing Into Anything"

The biggest question on the Golden Globes red carpet this year may not be whether Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be attending. Instead, it's will Jake Gyllenhaal bring Taylor Swift has his date?

Reporters are already trying to get that answer to who will be Jake's date just after it was announced the actor has been nominated for Best Actor for his role in Love & Other Drugs.

"Dude, I didn't think I was getting nominated. It's going to be a long, slow burn for me, he told USA Today. "I'm not rushing into anything!"

But when you're spotted hanging out with Taylor Swift, you can't blame fans for wondering! But Jake's still trying to let his nomination soak in.

"I was asleep. I didn't wake up. It was pretty unexpected," he explained about how he found out he was nominated. "I got a call and then I checked my phone and I had 25 e-mails, and it was either disconcerting or exciting. In this case it was exciting."

So how does this nomination compare to being nominated in 2005 for Brokeback Mountain?

"The last time I was nominated for an award like this, it was so overwhelming and I didn't know how to process it. I can see these things are rare and you never know when they're going to happen, so you have to soak it in and appreciate each moment," Jake said. "Celebrating is a long, slow burn for me. I'm going to really soak this in."
