The speculation as to whether or not James Franco was high hosting the Oscars can finally be put to rest. He was not.

James was not stoned while he was hosting the Academy Awards on Sunday with Anne Hathaway.
His rep tells E! News, "James does not drink or do drugs ever."
And sources further explained that James was "exhausted" after "going on 20-hour days four days in a row" to rehearse by flying back and forth from the East Coast.
And E! News also points out that his 127 Hour director, Danny Boyle, also had mistaken him as a stoner after he first met him!
"I wasn't sure at first," Danny said. "We met him and he was so relaxed — he looked stoned to me. People say that about him. But he's not. In fact, he's abstemious." In other words, he abstains from liquor and/or drugs.

And as for those new reports that Anne and James "hate each other?"
Anne's rep says, "Anne adores James and had a wonderful time hosting the Oscars with him."
Maybe some Oscar critics were simply meeting James for the first time Sunday night outside his films!
