If you thought Jay Leno would be going anywhere anytime soon, you’d be wrong. While the host of the Tonight Show will be moving aside for Conan O’Brien to take his spot in 2010, Jay’s got a brand new deal for a 10pm show on NBC, according to the New York Post.

"This is a great social experiment," a source tells the paper. "Either it will succeed or people will think, ‘What the hell was Jay thinking?’ "

The primetime slot will hopefully help NBC’s ratings—which have been slipping recently—particularly since ER ends this year, .

The new show could be called, The Jay Leno Show, appropriately enough, and would run Monday through Friday and could start as early as next fall.
