Jennifer Hudson may be talking about her weight-loss battle on her new book tour, but weight is not the reason she turned down a role in the Academy Award-nominated film Precious.
Jennifer spoke to reporters at last night's Good Housekeeping’s cocktail party celebrating her magazine cover and her book, I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down, where she set the record straight on the controversy.

"I’m a firm believer that what is meant for you is meant for you, and it was clearly meant for Gabby Sidibe," she said. "I adore her and she did an amazing job.
"Again, I did not turn the role down because of the weight situation. The character was doing things — at least in my script that I got — that went places I did not want to go and I felt like I didn’t need to go."
