Last night in NYC the joint was really jumping! By joint we mean the NY Television Festival and by jumping we mean fist pumping a la the cast of Jersey Shore! And what better time to dish than on a Thursday Jerzday.

As the cast of Jersey Shore assembled for a special panel, "Love, Loss, (Gym, Tan) and Laundry: A Farewell to Jersey Shore," cast members Vinny Guadagnino, Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Deena Nicole Cortese, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro ascended upon the platform to talk about what else? The show that made them famous.

Lucky for us, we got to chat with them before-hand for the inside scoop. We knew we were in for a real treat before the panel when Vinny and Pauly flexed some muscles for the cameras on the red carpet (Pauly flexed while Vinny did jumping jacks!).

It's hard to believe just a few years ago we didn't even know who Snooki was before the hit reality show on MTV aired. During the panel she recalled what started it all. She saw a note on Facebook to audition for a competition reality show about guidos and guidettes.

She revealed, "I'm like, 'Oh my God,' that's me. I had a fur coat on...and a big poof in my hair, I'm the baddest bitch. I made the poof and all this sh** and then they called me back, and I was so excited. That was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. The fact ther were people out there like me -- crazy like me -- I felt not alone."

As for The Situation's audition, well that was a no brainer. He took his shirt off to reveal his six pack! Executive producer SallyAnn Salsano dished to the audience, "I was like how did you know -- Mike sat down in the chair across from me, he's like listen, I'm so much more interesting like this and next thing you know he's naked practically and I'm like, well he's on the show. Anyone who has that much self-esteem, we need to be around."

Mike added, "I definitely took my shirt off....I said I'll be more comfortable. That was before any questions, anything." Looks like that move alone snagged him the part!

He also pointed to a pretty cool moment he knew when the show exploded pretty quickly. "Leonardo DiCaprio didn't even say hello, he said, 'GTL all day.' It was pretty unbelievable but everything was going so fast and you just hope to make the right decision and keep moving forward."

An MTV executive on the panel revealed when she knew the show made a mark as well. Her colleague in the L.A. office spotted Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher (together at the time) sitting next to her table at Coffee Bean as they talked about Jersey Shore!

So yes, suffice it to say the gang has given us a lot of memories throughout six seasons on the air.

In fact, when someone from the audience asked what's one thing they want the show to be remembered by 20 years from now, Snooki deadpanned: "Animal print."
