John Mayer Makes a Young Fan's Dream Come True On Stage

Even taking into account the media maelstrom surrounding John Mayer's loose lips and his controversial Playboy interview, one can't help but melt a little bit watching him play guitar onstage with a young fan. John pulled Austin, 11, onto the stage with him to jam on Sunday at Philadelphia's Wachovia Center, after spotting the young musician's sign that read, "Can I please play 'Belief' with you?"
Displaying an admirable level of cool on stage, Austin held his own throughout the number, and the two received thunderous applause at the end of the song. "That's my man!" John crowed, adding, "That's your guitar, that's yours," as he gave the guitar to Austin as a keepsake of his moment in the spotlight.

An insider tells OK! that Austin was so excited about his big performance, that his mom reached out to John's team with her thanks, sending a note of gratitude.
"John made an 11 year old's dream come true. John gave him the guitar after the show and we needed security to get out of the stadium," writes Austin's mom. "Everyone wanted a picture with him. If you get a chance watch some of the videos on You Tube, it is touching. As John said, 'the kid pulled through.' I just wanted to thank JM for pulling through for Austin."
