Safe Haven tells the suspenseful story of a young woman, Katie (Julianne), who struggles to find love again after she arrives in a small town in North Carolina. She ends up meeting the widowed store owner and father of two, Alex (Josh), whom she begins a relationship with. But dark secrets intrude on Katie's new life and she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and true love.

“I’m thrilled that Josh and Julianne have agreed to come aboard Safe Haven," Nicholas said in a press release. "It’s hard to think of an actor better-suited to play the character of Alex than Josh, and Julianne will bring a combination of vulnerability and strength to the role of Katie."
