Judi Dench Reveals She's Suffering From Macular Degeneration

Award winning actress Judi Dench revealed in a new interview Saturday that she is suffering from macular degeneration and beginning to have much difficulty seeing.

“The most distressing thing is in a restaurant in the evening I can't see the person I'm having dinner with,” the 77-year-old said of her declining vision to the Daily Mirror via the Huffington Post.

Being diagnosed with the condition, which can sometimes cause blindness, the Oscar winner admitted to even needing help reading her scripts.
“It's usually my daughter or my agent or a friend,” the Shakespeare in Love actress explained of who assists her in going over lines now.
