It's finally here… Justin Bieber's track "Boyfriend" debuted today at midnight and already has shot to No. 1 on the iTunes charts. Justin spoke with radio host Elvis Duran earlier about why this song has such a different sound.
"We wanted to make something different," Justin said. "Something that was going to catch people's attention."
"We wanted to show people that I could evolve."
Elvis remarked that "Boyfriend" sounded like it had more "depth" to it compared to his earlier work. Justin understood what he meant. "I was just younger and my voice was higher and it was geared to a younger audience, but now I'm broadening my audience."

Justin also talked about writing about love now compared to when he first came on the music scene, especially now that he's in a relationship with star Selena Gomez. "When you're 13, that's when you're trying to figure out what it means. It's puppy love. But now, being 18 and trying to figure out what it actually really means is a totally different story."

What can Beliebers expect from the rest of Believe when it comes out sometime this summer? "Everything is so different — different genres. I did a song with Drake, I did two songs with Hit Boy — just great songs that I just know you can't not like them. They're just good songs.
"I just like to pick the best of everything. Just take the best people from the best areas of music and try to make something that people are like, 'Wow, I didn't expect him to go there, but I also respect him for trying.' "
