Justin Bieber Lies About Stolen Computer, Pranks Twitter and Releases New Video

On Wednesday the singer Tweeted to his nearly 29 million followers that his personal laptop and camera were stolen backstage in Tacoma, WA.

“Sucks when u take personal footage and people don’t respect your privacy.” he wrote. “Yesterday during the show me and my tour manager Josh had some stuff stolen. Really sucks. People should respect other’s property.”

What ensued was a flurry of everyone's imagination going wild, dreaming up what all the "personal footage" might be, exactly. Even a half-hearted photo of a nude man hit the Internet alleging to be the Biebs, but true fans were able to point out how the nipples and belly button were slightly off.

Well, it turns out this was all part of Justin's master plan to drum up publicity for his latest music video, 'Beauty and a Beat' co-starring Nicki Minaj.

Someone in Bieber's camp created a fake Twitter handle, @gexwy, who began taunting the singer with plans on releasing the "secret" footage at noon today. Justin got into character perfectly and insisted his "real fans" would still support him no matter what.

Well, noon came and went and all we got was the Bieber/Minaj video and soon the pint-sized singer let us all in on his well-executed joke. Indeed, there was no stolen computer and there certainly wasn't any "personal footage."
