Kate Gosselin was back on the publicity prowl yesterday in NYC, despite the blustery conditions. Fortunately, she had a bodyguard to hold her umbrella when she stepped out of her hotel and headed off to make sure the world still knows who she is, including a stop at the Today show.

Kate went on the show to defend her children Collin and Alexis, who were dealing with some anger issues and were rumored to have been expelled from school.

The former reality TV mom admitted they had been having some problems, explaining, “We have a situation where my kids are in an academically excelling school where academics are pushed and I fully support it. Combined with kids who are having just gone through a divorce of their parents, suffering all of those normal feelings and the two collided and they just were not doing well with the combination.”
