Fox confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson were both cast as reccuring characters next season. Both women have signed multi-episode deals.
Another new wrinkle? The show will take on a "show within a show" format as some of the cast, a slew of graduating seniors, are shuttled off to a performing arts institution in New York City, while a bulk of the characters will remain at the mainstay school of McKinley High in Ohio.

It was also reported that the New York-centric spin to the series was added when co-creator Ryan Murphy got the news that his Big Apple spin-off didn't get the green light as planned.
Glee will return to Fox this fall on Thursdays at 9 p.m.
