An offer has reportedly been made to Katie as part of a package to stay and also do a future daytime talk show for CBS.
The chief of 60 Minutes, Jeff Fager, was put in charge of CBS News. But Les Moonves, head of CBS, reportedly wants to keep Katie at the network.
And while Katie's current deal with CBS is up in June and reports say Scott Pelley has agreed to take over for her evening news position.
A spokesman for Katie declined to comment on the details of her new offer.
