Katie Holmes Calls Her Former 'Dawson's Creek' Co-Star Joshua Jackson After Tom Cruise Divorce

Katie Holmes has been reestablishing herself as a single woman since her divorce from Tom Cruise and she's been reaching out to old friends like Joshua Jackson — her co-star on Dawson's Creek which went off the air in 2003.

On September 20, The Fringe star talked about how Katie called him on the Canadian talk show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight.
He revealed, "Like any old friend, it was like, 'Oh, hi how are ya? What's going on?'; 'I had a kid."

"It was very nice, actually," he said of the conservation.
Us Weekly reports, Katie, who played Joey on the teen drama, wanted to discuss possible movie ideas with her former co-stars James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams and of course Joshua, but Tom Cruise put an end to that idea.

"Producers were begging her to sign on for a reunion movie," a source said. "Tom said absolutely no way and thought going backward would be bad." Katie, on the other hand, "didn't care how 'low-brow' he thought Dawson's Creek is," the source explained. "She wanted to do the movie and reconnect with her fans. And have fun."
