Well, it's been over 200 shows and 60 co-hosts since Regis Philbin left Live! With Regis and Kelly but this morning Kelly Ripa officially announced Michael Strahan as her new partner!

An exuberant Kelly proclaimed this morning, "It has been nine months and I'm about to give birth to my new co-host!" Then she thanked fans before Michael bursted onto set in grand fashion: "Before I bring him out, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank all of you, to thank all of you guys; you stood by us, you stood by our show, you supported it. You enter our contests, gosh, you're the best audience. I'm not kidding. I love you guys!
"I really appreciate all of your input during our co-host search, and you had a lot to say — and stop sending your résumés to my home address, thank you. I appreciate it."
Kelly continued, "But now it's time for a new era of our show to begin, so, let's get this started. It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the newest member of our Live! family. We are honored to have him here: Michael Strahan!

"We are like that insane couple from The Bachelor," Kelly quipped.
"I'm speechless, I'm speechless," Michael stated. "I adore you and I'm so happy to be here and to be part of this. Thank you and producer Gelman, thank you... everyone involved with bringing me here. It's a dream come true. Well, I truly can't say that because I didn't even know that I could dream this."
And then he gave his co-host a dozen red roses and thus, a new era has begun. Congratulations, Michael!
