
Keys Leads AMA Nominees

The nominees for the 36th Annual American Music Awards were announced on Tuesday, putting Alicia Keys in the lead for the artist with the most AMA nods--5 to be exact, followed by Coldplay and the Eagles, who scored four each.
All three will compete for artist of the year, alongside rapper Lil Wayne and R&B star Chris Brown, who have three nominations each. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel will return as host and the show—held at the Nokia Theater in L.A. on November 23—will feature performances from the Jonas Brothers, Pink and reunited boy band New Kids on the Block.

Alicia Keys' album As I am was nominated for favorite album in the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories. She was also nominated for favorite artist in both those categories.
Coldplay was cited for favorite alternative artist, and the Eagles for favorite adult contemporary artist.
