Kiefer Sutherland took responsibility for his actions today, as he turned himself in to the NYPD. He allegedly head-butted designer Jack McCollough at a Met Costume Institute Gala after party earlier this week, E! News reports.
The 24 star arrived at the NYPD's 1st precinct today and was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault and was issued an appearance citation. He'll be able to travel before his arraignment.

The strange incident apparently occurred when Kiefer confronted McCollough, who he says made a slight against Brooke Shields, also a guest at the event. He then head-butted the designer. However, Brooke's reps say the designer hadn't done anything to provoke the attack.
