Going through a rough time divorcing husband of 72 days Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian is still optimistic about starting fresh in a new year.

“I’m excited for a new year, new me. I’m just excited,” the 31-year-old told reporters in Las Vegas on Wednesday and explained, “I think 2011 was a great year of learning lessons, so I’m excited for 2012.”
Taking a new approach in the new year, Kim, who recently took a trip to Haiti, wants to re-focus her life to be more involved in philanthropy.
“At the beginning of this year I planned on taking the end couple months of the year off to do charity work and I think it’s been such an awakening experience for me that I would just love to do more,” the Marriage Counselor actress explained at the Grand Opening of Kardashian Khaos event at the Mirage Hotel.

“I would love to go to Egypt, I would love to go to Thailand, I mean there’s so many places that I would love to go.”
