Last night after Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff's elimination, Kirstie told reporters winning would be the ultimate prize. "I think it's going to be like winning an Oscar. Because it’s something I haven’t won before, it’s something I’ve always really wanted. It’s a different category, but I feel like we were just nominated!"

For starters, it's like being nominated for discipline which Kirstie said she "never had in my life." Thanks to the show she has a new appreciation for professional dancers. "I had no idea what their life was like. None. You only see a performance and you go, wow that was good. So I was kind of an airhead about it, I didn’t really realize how many years goes into it and what that life is like."
