Looks like Kristen Stewart will be spending her summer On the Road as filming begins Aug. 2!

Kristen has signed on to play the role of Marylou, the young wife of Dean Moriarty in the movie adaptation Jack Kerouac's novel On the Road.
The film's producers have opened an office at Mel's Cite du Cinema studio to start filming Aug. 2, the Montreal Gazette reports.

The star will be filming in between promoting Twilight Saga: Eclipse and starting up filming for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn in October right after On the Road ends.
On the Road will start filming in Montreal the month of August, then head to New Orleans for another month of filming, followed by a couple weeks in Mexico and then wrapping scenes back in Montreal.
