Kristen Stewart's personal life may be in shambles at the moment, but her career is still on track. Vulture reports the 22-year-old Twilight star has just landed the leading role in Lie Down in Darkness, which will be an indie adaptation of William Styron’s 1951 novel.
Kristen will play Peyton Loftis, who is forced to deal with the shortcomings of her highly dysfunctional family. She's subjected to jealousy and hatred by her mother who is envious of her beauty, she is always compared to her crippled sister Maudie and her alcoholic father is constantly lusting after her.

The part was initially going to Jennifer Lawrence, but she will spend most of next year shooting sequels to The Hunger Games and X-Men.
While Kristen has locked in this film, the future of the follow up to Snow White and the Huntsman is unclear. In the wake of her affair with Rupert Sanders, the director of the movie, no one knows what will happen.
