Laura Linney hasn’t let her best-actress Oscar nomination for The Savages go to her head.
She’s been nominated twice before – for Kinsey in 2005, and You Can Count On Me in 2001.
“You have to make a choice about how it’s going to affect you,” Laura, 44, tells me. “It’s really nice. It’s a really high compliment. It’s a really nice thing. It’s certainly better than hearing ‘boy she missed. That was really not good. She sucked. That was not a good movie.’ It’s also important for our film. It’s a very nice compliment for me, but that’s the thing that I’m happiest about. For these films that are layered, it’s important that people see it and for that, I’m thrilled.”
