LeAnn Rimes is proud to be stepmom to Mason, 9, and 6-year-old Jake—her husband Eddie Cibrian's two kids with Brandi Glanville. But the 30-year-old singer is opening up about her desire to someday have a baby of her own.

"We have a lot on our plates," LeAnn tells People. "But whenever I talk about kids, I'm like, 'Let's have one!' I have a lot of work to do now but I'm totally ready if it happens."

Despite her enthusiasm to carry a child of her own, LeAnn worries she may face problems getting pregnant. "It took my mom 12 years to have me. I hope I don't have that issue but if I do, then a surrogate is something I've thought about," she reveals. "Eddie and I have also talked about adopting. My capacity to love a child doesn't stop at my own eggs, obviously!"

So would LeAnn prefer to have a son or daughter? "Testosterone is all around here so I need a little girl!" she says.
