Can't jump across the pond as much as you'd like but love hearing all the latest celebrity and society gossip? London-based journalist Natalie Livingstone and fashion stylist Rachel Ingram give you the low-down on the celebrity and style scene in the world's hottest city!
London was the place to be this week as a galaxy of A-listers converged on the capital.
On Wednesday night, Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Gwyneth Paltrow, Joan Collins and fashion legend Valentino gathered at a glittering Jazz-er-themed soiree at the super chic Claridges Hotel hosted by style icon Diane Von Furstenberg.
OK! SPECIAL: LETTERS FROM LONDON — THE WEEKEND IN THE BIG CITY!
Wearing thigh-high leather boots and a Giles Deacon micro mini bustier dress, guest-of-honour Posh ignited a million flashbulbs. “I was meant to go away with the kids today,” Posh told us. “But I changed my flight to be here.”
Meanwhile, Madonna sparked off a new fashion trend, when she turned up after dinner in an androgynous suit, complete with a black Trilbey hat. Fashion designer-turned-director Tom Ford made a stylish entrance in one of his own creations and dropped his clearest hint yet that a new womenswear collection and movie are on their way.

On Thursday night, we popped into new celebrity eatery The Dean Street Townhouse, for some early dinner and once again came face to face with Her Madgesty. Madonna was seated a quiet spot at the back of the restaurant feeding her brood of three kids still wearing her now-signature Trilby hat.
Moving on to the main event of London’s social calendar, we headed to Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball. This is truly the most glamorous, star-studded event of the year and Elton’s 12th extravaganza held at his palatial Windsor home. Sipping on vodka cocktails named after Elton’s favourite Lady Gaga songs — like "Bad Romance" and "Elixir" served in a medicine bottle — we rubbed shoulders with the biggest gathering of celebs to hit our shores since the Baftas, including Elizabeth Hurley, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Ivana Trump, The Duchess of York, Kid Rock and Grace Jones.

Pop sensation Lady Gaga in a full-length white satin dress and a Viktor & Rolf cage mask, who had been a guest at Sir Elton’s manor, was star of the show. “Staying in the most beautiful, magical house I’ve ever seen,” she tweeted. “ I wish all my little monsters were here with me, The Eve of the Eltonball.” The popstrel was clearly delighted with the evening’s theme which was ‘Twisted Garden fete’ and commented: “Eltonball! Dead bodies in trees, wheelchairs and tiaras. You sure know the way to a girl’s heart.”

Later on, she dazzled the celebrity crowd, with her theatrical performance and unforgettable duet with the host — a mash-up of her song "Speechless" and his composition "Your Song."
