Hey you! How’s it going? Good? Good! Me? Oh I’m Fabulous. Where have I been? Whatever do you mean? I’ve been right here all along. Never missed a beat. You must be mistaken! Okay, okay, okay. So I took a bit of a hiatus. (Way to call me out, commenter “joey fatone”!) But can you blame me? It was summer! And since I live so close to THE Jersey Shore, how could I not spend all my free time DTS, GTLing and fist pumping at Karma with the founders of the GFA?
All joking aside I had an amazing summer. Perhaps the best one yet! How was yours? I was lucky enough to be able to spend time with some very inspiring (and very fit) friends of mine on the West coast. Allow me to introduce you to them — and do a whole lot of name dropping.
Here is the gorgeous Ashley Conrad, the cool-as-heck celebrity trainer extraordinaire. Ashley is responsible for some of the sexiest bodies in Hollywood including Kate Hudson, Kristin Bell and Bradley Cooper. Ash even managed to transform Bradley from normal hot/fit guy shape into super ripped, chiseled, action hero guy shape in only FOUR WEEKS for him to film A-Team. And there was no magic wand involved. We worked out at her gym in her incredible house in the hills — just like her star clients do — and she had me crawling around, running up and down stairs, and doing lots of things that were fun and incredibly painful all at once.
Here I am post-workout with THE Danny Musico. Danny is a world champion boxer and also a trainer to stars. Whenever Jessica Simpson tweets about the butt-kicking boxing workouts that make her want to puke, she’s referring to time spent with Danny who also works with Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and a slew of A-Listers. Aside from gifting me with my very own (pink!) boxing gloves, Danny put me through a grueling interval workout. Rumor has it he may be moving back to the East coast soon! Fingers crossed!
And last but never least, Miss Jackie Warner! You know Jackie her from her Bravo shows like the drama-filled Work Out and the super inspiring Thintervention and also her best-selling not-so-subtly titled book, This Is Why You’re Fat (And How To Get Thin Forever). Jackie is super pretty and down to earth and all about positive vibes (check out the piece we did together in the mag!).
She and Ashley even stopped by OK!s 4th Anniversary party to hang out! Boy did that make me second guess whether or not to indulge in a second cocktail.
While chatting, Jackie told me that she advises her clients to set small goals to stay on track — like signing up for a 5k. This way you have something to work towards, look forward to, and a reason to stay committed! So, I decided to take her advice.
