Here’s the latest installment of Loni Works It Out, where OK!’s Beauty and Health Editor Loni Albert chronicles her trials and travails as she attempts to slim down like a superstar. Follow her on OKmagazine.com every week and on Twitter!

One of the most amazing parts of my job is that I get to attend exciting events. Sometimes they are just really fun — like when Axe flew me to the Hamptons in a helicopter, and I was given my own male model to play with (I kid you not) — while others are really educational, like a long weekend in Canada where I literally trained like an Olympian, working out with a celebrity trainer and hiking through snow-covered mountains three to four times a day.

This week, Gatorade invited me to the launch of their newest product — G Series Pro — at a swanky loft downtown. Their newest concoctions were designed with the professional athlete in mind: three beverages to be consumed before, during, and after your workout — each with a different benefit.

The whole theme of the launch was that athletes don't just head to the gym for an hour a day like us regular folk (well, like us regular folk on a good week), they are in the gym 24/7, meaning that everything they eat, drink, and think is based on how it will affect them in the game.

LONI WORKS IT OUT: AN ODE TO RUNNING

And just to back up this theory, Gatorade recruited the help of some guys who might know a thing or two about the athlete lifestyle: Eli Manning and LaDainian Tomlinson. Oh, yeah, and this other dude was there named... Diddy.

The football stars played a passionately competitive round at the foosball table, and then hung with us and chatted about the new product, the Giants and Jets and other athletic fabulousness while we all sipped on Gatorade.

Diddy, who apparently is friends with the athletes (shocker), coincidentally proved how he lives the 24/7 jock lifestyle by passing right by the elevator and running up all eight flights of stairs where the event was held despite wearing a sleek black suit.

I left the shindig feeling just a little starstruck but also very inspired. Being able to mingle with such talented athletes, who have reached the peak of fitness — convincing their bodies to do what most of us can't even dream of doing — was more than pretty cool. And that night at the gym I had a whole new rush of energy and desire to do my best — it was like I had gotten stronger through osmosis.

LONI WORKS IT OUT: GIMME SOME SUGAR

So the main point, I suppose, is GET INSPIRED! We were designed to move, to do amazing things; to run, dance, jump, but definitely not to stand still. Check out a baseball game, whether it be at your local high school or at Yankee Stadium. Go watch a marathon and cheer on the runners. It is contagious, and after witnessing these bodies in motion, it won't be long before you're getting in the game, too.

(And just for fun, YouTube some Gatorade commercials. These guys totally know how to get you pumped. Check out this one— loving the Jabbawockeez cameo there!)
