As rumors continue that Katie Couric will be leaving CBS, rumors are starting up that Meredith Vieira will be leaving NBC!

According to a TV Guide source, Meredith is expected to leave the Today show later this year when her contract is up.
Meredith reportedly is worried about continuing the morning news hours and feels ready to move on when her contract expires in September.
TV Guide also reports that Meredith's husband's health, he has battled multiple sclerosis and cancer, is also a factor in her decision.

However, the network hopes they can work out a deal with Meredith.
"NBC is doing everything they can to convince her to stay," a source close to the situation tells TV Guide.
And the network said in a statement, "The Today show anchors are currently under contract and firmly in place."

If Meredith did leave Today, TV Guide's source says Ann Curry would be the leading candidate for her job as co-anchor with Matt Lauer.
